EAFPS 2023 – 46th Annual Meeting

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
it was a great honour for me that the EAFPS board and General Assembly, during the splendid meeting in Nice, nominated Italy as the location of the official Meeting of the Academy in 2023, in my beloved city of Verona.
I am very proud of this nomination after 30 years of membership of the Academy that I was introduced to by the great Prof. Bull and an amazing Italian teacher Prof. Sulsenti.
The main goal of the meeting will be to bring the Academy closer to young surgeons, enabling them to make the most of the best education that will be delivered by the masters of surgery that will be part of the invited faculty for the meeting.
After the pandemic that struck negative blows to every sector, the time will be perfect to meet and network in the splendid surroundings of my famous city defined “the city of love” with a series of initiatives and places to visit that my collaborators will program for the event.
The congress venue is located in the main square of the city in front of the famous Amphitheatre “Arena of Verona”, that is known internationally for opera and music and hopefully it will be possible to take part during the dates of the congress, should the theatre programme allow this.
As far as the Scientific aspect is concerned, in addition to the main topics that are always present in our meetings, we hope to increase the relationships with other National and International Scientific Societies, and with colleagues from Asia, North, Central and South America and hopefully from the other continents.
With great friendship and affection, I hope to see you all in 2023, confident in delivering a great event.
